Bus driver yells at lady
Bus driver yells at lady
Our Bus driver pulled the bus over into the center of a merge area on the Turnpike to yell at lady talking quietly on her cell phone. This was after already pulling over in the bus terminal (holding up other buses) to yell at us for asking questions. He was aggressive and completely inappropriate. Any simple question was met with aggressiveness and threats to be thrown off the bus, or have cops come take us off. There might be somewhere in Greyhound Policy that states, "pulling off to the side of the highway is only for emergency purposes only". Not to yell at your passengers. He mentioned greyhound's "zero tolerance" policy several times, which he probably meant with regards to unruly behavior, but he was the one with the attitude problem. www.greyhound.com Apparently recording greyhound personnel is against their policy, which is a great way to protect employees who may be abusive toward passengers.

an albuquerque city bus driver---and he's been on paid leave for nearly five months because he showed up to work drunk. we first reported the story late last year.. now we've learned the bus driver will likely keep his job. investigative reporter jeremy jojola is live at transit headquarters downtown with the reason why jeremy. what would happen if you showed up to work drunk? would you be fired? a city bus driver will likely come back to work thanks to failed substance abuse test and a union contract. we know--through sources --a city bus driver was ordered to take a breathalizer test after showing up to work drunk in november. the city can't get into details about the case, but says the driver never made it behind the wheel. "we had a great supervisor who was able to observe signs and suspicions of impairement. had that good supervisor not noticed those things. conceivable this individual could have been in a position of driving a public transit." chief administrative officer rob perry says under current union contracts, employees violating the city's substance abuse policy on a first time offense can keep their jobs if they get counseling. the city says the disciplinary process has taken months because the alcohol test given to the bus driver by an independent clinic was not done properly. it hopes to have an outcome-- soon. perry says ideally, the city would like to fire the driver and other employees like him. Vietnam Cop Stopping a Bus Driver From Escaping a Traffic Ticket
Vietnamese Cop Stopping a Bus Driver From Escaping a Traffic Ticket. A Vietnamese traffic cop went on a wild ride in Hanoi, clinging to the windshield wipers of a moving bus for nearly a kilometer (0.6 mile) after the rogue driver tried to avoid a ticket, police said Friday. Traffic police 2nd Lt. Nguyen Manh Phan ordered the bus driver to pull over the 39-seat passenger coach Monday, said a police officer in Ba Vi District outside Hanoi. The officer spoke on condition of anonymity, citing policy. The driver allegedly refused to show his paperwork and drove off — but not before Phan leaped onto the front, he added. The officer said the bus reached a top speed of about 50 kilometers per hour (31 mph). A video shot by one of Phan's fellow police officers shows the officer trying to get his footing and dangling precariously from the moving bus as oncoming traffic whizzes past. Phan can be heard yelling, "Call the police!" The driver, Phung Hong Phuong, eventually pulled over after being chased by police and residents. Even with the bus stopped, Phan stood calmly in front of it, still hanging on to the wipers. Phuong was arrested for allegedly acting against public officials, an offense that carries a maximum three-year prison sentence, the officer said. He previously served nearly four years in prison for a fatal traffic accident, and was released in 2010.

Dramatic Failure of US Traffic Safety Policy kills tens of thousands annually
Dramatic Failure of US Traffic Safety Policy kills tens of thousands annually
US traffic safety policy is killing tens of thousands of additional people on our roads every year. This occurs because we ignore the findings of 70 years of scientific research. The author's 2004 book "Traffic Safety" described the situation as "The Dramatic Failure of US Safety Policy". This presentation shows that enormous amounts of recent data confirm our adherence to the same disastrous course. In the last 7 years China has reduced its traffic deaths by 39%. It has taken the US 37 years to achieve the same reduction. Other countries have policies that are ORDINARILY FOOLISH. US policies are not ordinarily foolish. They are EXTRAORDINARILY FOOLISH. This is because US safety policy continues to maximize litigation earnings and the resulting political contributions, while ignoring science, knowledge, or even common understanding. This results in placing priorities almost perfectly opposite to where safety benefits are greatest.

Canada's Worst Driver - S06E02
Episode 2: Driving Blind Original airdate: November 1, 2010 The RV Challenge -- In every province in Canada, ordinary drivers are licensed to drive a vehicle 12 metres long and weighing up to 11 tonnes. In this challenge, contestants must reverse one such vehicle around a gentle curve. For this challenge, all eight contestants must take the course together. Dean, going first, scrapes the paint off, but Scott, in the passenger seat, manages to correct his course in the latter half of his run. Jamie is coached by Paul and Scott through her run in a similar manner, but hits 18 things. Scott has few problems in his own run, while Brad focuses so much on his driver-side mirror he takes off his passenger-side mirror, and the cross-talk between Scott, Dean, and Paul gets him confused, though he does finish. Paul forces his way through the course, but only hits six things. Dale is guided by four contestants inside the vehicle and John outside to pass her run. Diane also goes through the first half of the course without hitting anything, and her second half is only marginally worse. Lance, going last, breaks down halfway through his run, and has to be continually comforted by Scott, Paul, and Brad. Running the Rails -- The contestants must drive a car up a set of rails over a pool, touching a stop sign without dislodging a set of garbage cans above the sign, before reversing the way they came. Brad slides off after three seconds, and fails. Dean slides off to the right going ...

Suntech on US Solar Policy/Market Outlook (Part I)
Suntech on US Solar Policy/Market Outlook (Part I)
An Interview with Steve Chadima, VP of External Affairs, Suntech. Suntech is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of solar energy solutions. Having established a strong position in Europe, Asia and Australia, the company entered the emerging US market, establishing a headquarter in San Francisco in 2008 after two years of preparations. In this interview by Essinova host BeiBei Song during Intersolar North America 2009, Steve Chadima, VP of External Affairs at Suntech America, comments on the current US solar market outlook and public policy environment. In his view, with tax incentives, R&D grants in the Stimulus package and DOE loan guarantees, major federal policies are fairly well-established but "the state [level] is where it's happening", with Renewable Policy Standards ("RPS") as the primary driver. The conversation highlights aspects of the European and California incentive systems that he considers good role models for America and other states, respectively, as well as areas where he expects adaptation and divergence. Having been navigating the country's diverse policy landscape, going state by state, Mr. Chadima shares his perspective on a number of states in particular. He also touches upon the company's branding, marketing and distribution strategy in anticipation of a more market-oriented environment.
